Antibiotics worked while you were on them. Topicals helped for a while. Then it came back.
Adult acne is not a hygiene problem or a willpower problem. It's a combination of sebum overproduction, bacterial presence, and follicular congestion that topical products address only at the surface. When you stop antibiotics, the bacteria return. When you stop actives, the congestion returns.
The problem
Why it keeps coming back.
Active acne involves three simultaneous problems: excess sebum creating an ideal environment for Cutibacterium acnes bacteria, comedonal blockages preventing normal follicular clearance, and inflammatory response causing the visible lesions. Most treatments address one of these. Antibiotics suppress bacteria but don't affect sebum or congestion. Retinoids help with turnover but can't reach inflammatory acne safely. Nothing addresses all three from the inside.
Diagnosis first

VISIA UV imaging maps bacterial activity across the face, showing active bacterial colonies in follicles that are not yet visibly inflamed. This means we can treat acne before it erupts, not just after. Pore analysis shows congestion patterns and guides whether HydraFacial extraction is the right addition to laser treatment.
